New Roof Replacement in Aldershot

Scott has spent more than 36 years on Surrey roofs, and a full roof replacement is the job where those years show, because it is the job where the surprises are hidden under the tiles until the day they come off.

If a smaller job will do, we say so, which is why plenty of enquiries here end up as roof repairs in Aldershot instead of a new roof, and why the firm is fully insured with Public Liability Insurance and stands behind the written guarantee for 25 years.

Call 07428 300474 any time and speak to Scott about your roof.

A new roof replacement in Aldershot means stripping the covering back, checking what the old roof was hiding, and rebuilding it to current fixing and ventilation standards.

Full Roof Replacement

The awkward part of a full replacement is what turns up once the tiles are off. Rotten batten. Sarking felt torn at the eaves. Rafter feet soft where water has been tracking down the wall for years. None of that shows from the ground, and none of it shows in a quote written by someone who never got up there.

So we strip first and look properly. Then we tell you what we found, with photographs, before anything is covered up again. If the timber is sound, we say so and you pay nothing extra. If it is not, you get the cost in writing before we carry on.

Fixing is done to BS 5534, which governs how tiles and slates are held down against wind uplift. That matters on exposed Aldershot roofs and on ridges and verges in particular, where dry systems have replaced the old sand and cement bedding for good reason. Ventilation is set out to BS 5250 so the new roof does not sweat into the insulation. Rainwater goods are sized to BS EN 12056 rather than by eye.

Every job leaves with a 25-year written workmanship guarantee. Handed over before the team goes. It is one sheet of paper you can hold.

Roof Types and Systems

Not every roof wants the same answer, and pretending otherwise is how people end up with a system that fails early. A shallow-pitch rear addition is not a candidate for plain tiles. A garage deck holding water is not a candidate for another layer of felt over the last one.

• Pitched roofs: concrete and clay tiles, natural and fibre cement slate, with dry ridge, dry verge and new breathable membrane.
• Flat roofs: EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass, and torch-on or built-up felt, laid to BS 6229 with falls that actually drain, plus warm-roof upgrades where the build-up allows.
• Metal roofs: standing seam zinc and aluminium, box profile sheet and metal tile sheet.
• Leadwork: abutments, valleys, soakers and chimney flashings, sized and fixed to Lead Sheet Association guidance.
• Chimneys, fascias, soffits, cladding and guttering including seamless aluminium, all replaced while the scaffold is up rather than a year later.

Asbestos-cement garage sheets are a separate matter. We assess them and advise the safe, compliant route under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. We do not carry out licensed removal ourselves, and we will not pretend otherwise to keep a job.

We also do not hard sell coatings. A coating is not a roof.

New Roof Installation in Aldershot

The problem with most installations is sequence. Scaffold arrives late, the strip runs into rain, and the roof spends three days open under a tarpaulin. We plan the strip around the weather and the tile delivery, and we work in sections so the building is never wider open than it needs to be.

Work is carried out by our own roofers. Not subcontracted strangers who cannot be found again in eighteen months. Scott, who started the firm, has spent more than 36 years on Surrey roofs, and he still answers the phone himself.

Call and survey

You ring, a real person picks up, day, night or weekend. Then we come and inspect properly, including a drone view of the slopes where that saves guesswork on a steep or awkward roof.

Fixed price in writing

One honest fixed price, no obligation, no charge for the quote. If a smaller repair will see you right for another decade, we say that instead of selling you a new roof. That happens more than you would expect.

Strip, repair and install

Covering off, timber and batten checked and replaced where needed, membrane and new covering on, leadwork and flashings dressed, ridge and verge fixed dry. Approved Document L's 25% rule sits inside this stage. Where insulation upgrades are triggered by the extent of the work, they are priced from the start, not sprung on you halfway through.

Finish and guarantee

Rubbish away, gutters cleared, site swept. The written guarantee comes out before the van leaves. Whether you need a new roof replacement in Aldershot or pitched roofing in Aldershot, the same team does the work from start to finish.

Homes in Aldershot and a new roof replacement in Woking alike come to us for the same reason: one crew, one price, one guarantee.

Service Area and Response Times for Aldershot Homes

Plenty of firms list a town they have never worked in. Ours is a family-run business covering Surrey and the Wey Valley, including Guildford, Cranleigh, Woking and the towns and villages between them, and Aldershot sits inside that patch rather than at the edge of a map.

What that means for you in practice: the phone is answered by someone who knows the roads and the housing stock, surveys are booked in days rather than weeks, and the person who quotes the job is on site while it runs. Fully insured, with Public Liability Insurance in place.

You can check the reviews yourself. We would rather you did.

We also handle new roof replacement.

Emergency Roof Replacement

Storm damage does not wait for a survey slot. A slipped section of covering, a lifted flat roof edge, or tiles off a hip after high wind will let water into ceilings within hours. Emergencies go to the front of the queue, 24/7, and a real person answers rather than a call centre taking a message for Monday.

The first visit is about stopping water. Temporary weathering, sheeting made off properly, gutters and outlets cleared so the water has somewhere to go. Then we look at whether a repair holds or whether a new roof replacement is the honest answer, and we tell you which, in writing, once the roof is dry enough to read.

Insurers usually want photographs and a written description of the damage. We provide both as standard.

Re-Roofing and Refurbishment

Some roofs do not need replacing yet, and saying so costs us money. A 1930s Aldershot tiled roof with sound timber, failing mortar bedding and a dozen slipped tiles may want a refurbishment: re-bed and re-point the ridge and verges, renew flashings, sort the valleys, replace the guttering. That can buy real years.

Where the membrane has perished, the nails have corroded and half the batten is soft, refurbishment is money thrown away. Then it is a strip and re-roof, and we will tell you that plainly rather than take the smaller job twice. Under the GOV.UK guidance on building regulations approval, replacing a large part of a roof covering is notifiable work, and we handle that as part of the job.

Either way the price is fixed before we start and the guarantee runs for 25 years. Done once, done properly. That is the whole offer.
